Emergency Responders Ready To Protect Florida for 9/11 Anniversary

Hundreds of emergency responders discussed plans to keep South Florida safe from terrorism and other threats during the quarterly summit of the Southeast Regional Domestic Security Task Force.

The meeting on Thursday at the Marriott in West Palm Beach covered preparations to secure the area during the 10th anniversary of 9-11.

Hundreds of agencies plan to have extra people working around the clock in the days leading up to the anniversary, including ocean crews escorting cruise ships arriving and leaving local ports

Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, chairman of the task force, kicked off the all-day event that joined law enforcement and emergency responders from Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.
